Report: Georgia RB Sony Michel cleared to play Saturday

The Georgia Bulldogs got a huge performance from running back Nick Chubb in his return to the field last week. It looks like they will hope to get a big contribution from another running back this week as Sony Michel could be on the field this weekend.

It was reported by 247Sports that Michel has been cleared to play this week against FCS opponent Nicholls State. This comes after he broke his arm in an ATV accident the weekend of July 4 and underwent surgery.

There is no telling if the team will give him a shot to play this week or hold him out just to be sure he is fully healed. If he is on the field this week, Michel will certainly give them a big boost.

After Chubb’s injury last year, Michel took over the starting job and rushed for over 1,100 yards and eight touchdowns with 270 receiving yards and three more touchdowns.
