Following the ceremonial weigh-ins for UFC 203, Urijah Faber and other members of the pay-per-view event found themselves in a frightening situation. As all of the men were returning to the hotel lobby, the elevator cord snapped and it went into a free fall.
According to Faber, the elevator fell one floor to the basement. The group of fighters was then trapped for approximately ten minutes.
Luckily, everyone was okay.
“Survivors! Elevator just snapped and we dropped 1 floor to the basement,” Faber wrote in an Instagram caption that showed him alongside fellow UFC 203 participants Brad Tavares and Yancy Medeiros, along with members of the fighters’ camps like Justin Bucholz, Ray Sefo and Fabio Prado.
Faber documented the entire situation on his Snapchat account.
Along with Tavares and Medeiros, fellow UFC 203 fighters Fabricio Werdum and CB Dollaway were also involved in the scare.
Another video shows even more of the fallout.
Brad Tavares also shared his view of the encounter.
As did Fabio Prado.
