In the first half of the New England Patriots’ 31-24 win over the Miami Dolphins today, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo went down with an apparent shoulder injury. He would miss the rest of the game and third-string quarterback Jacoby Brissett came in to finish the game.
It was later reported that Garoppolo left Gillette Stadium to head to the hospital for further evaluation. Kevin Duffy of MassLive reported the news Sunday afternoon.
The Patriots are still without starter Tom Brady for the next two games as he serves his four-game suspension. They certainly hope Garoppolo will be healthy enough to play the next two weeks as they await Brady’s return.
In relief, Brissett was 6-9 with 92 yards through the air and also rushed for 12 yards. The Patriots also let the Dolphins back into the game after leading 24-0 in the second quarter.
New England next faces off against the Houston Texans Thursday night.
