T. Boone Pickens, the billionaire Oklahoma State booster with a billion dollar name, has issued a statement regarding coach Mike Gundy, as promised.

Pickens, who has donated $500 million to his alma-mater, said the following while talking about Big XII expansion:
“I don’t have any conversations with Gundy,” he said. “Is there a rift? I don’t know, but Mike doesn’t handle people relationships very well. And he gets mad about things. I’ve heard he’s written some notes about me that weren’t very complimentary.”
Pickens and Gundy have a bit of a history when Pickens said he would be an OSU supporter “no matter who coached em'”. Not exactly a resounding endorsement, Gundy sought out Pickens for a truce. Despite being the most successful coach in OSU history, the success has perhaps not been enough for the aging booster.

It’s never good for a coach to be at odds with the university’s largest booster. Pickens alludes to his “competitive spirits” and his advanced age, factors that could play into Gundy’s future if Pickens is inclined to step-in.
Oklahoma plays the 22nd ranked Texas Longhorns this week in what has been an exciting game. Oklahoma State currently leads 43-31 with just over 2 minutes left in the third quarter.
