With heavy hearts, Michigan State will play host to BYU this week. The Spartans have experienced the loss of two alumnus and former standouts on the football team this year, punter Mike Sadler and defensive back Mylan Hicks.
Mylan Hicks was shot in front of a nightclub in Calgary, Canada on Sept. 25. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he would later be pronounced dead. Hicks was 23 years old at the time of the tragedy and played for the Spartans from 2010-2014 and earned a degree is Psychology while at the university.
Mike Sadler passed away on July 23rd as a result of a car accident. He majored in applied engineering sciences in his time at Michigan State and was working on his Masters degree.

In remembrance of Mylan Hicks and Mike Sadler, roses were placed at the 6-yard line and the 3-yard line; their numbers when they played in college respectively.
Our thoughts go out to the Hicks and Sadler family during this tough time.
