Maryland suspends Isaiah Davis for cheap shot on Penn State kicker

Maryland will take the field this weekend without linebacker Isaiah Davis. On Tuesday, Terrapins head coach DJ Durkin told reporters Davis has been suspended for a late hit last weekend on Penn State kicker Joey Julius.

The hit can be seen here.

Davis was already set to miss the first half of this Saturday’s game against Minnesota after being ejected for targeting for the hit on Julius, but Durkin decided to send a message to his football team. It was the second straight week that Julius was on the receiving end of an opponent’s cheap shot.

Kickoff between Maryland, which sits at 4-1 on the year, and the 3-2 Gophers is scheduled for noon ET on ESPNU.
