The Tennessee Volunteers’ defensive unit has once again been struck by the injury bug. Defensive standout Jalen Reeves-Maybin will officially miss the remainder of the season after undergoing his second shoulder surgery of the season.
Reports first surfaced that Reeves-Maybin would miss the rest of the 2016 campaign over the weekend and they were confirmed today.

It’s a disappointing development for the star defender, who was trying everything he could to get back to 100 percent and back on the field with his teammates.

Reeves-Maybin initially injured his shoulder earlier in the year.
While it is another disappointing bit of news for the Vols defense as they look to end a two-game losing streak, the good news is the team has the weekend off before returning to action on the road next weekend against South Carolina.
