Wisconsin improved to 5-2 after beating Iowa in a battle of Big Ten teams. They kept Iowa from crossing the goal line and ran the ball down the throat of the defense; a very Wisconsin win.
Coming off back to back losses against two of the best teams in the country, Wisconsin has faced on elf the toughest schedules of any team this season. They lost by only a touchdown to Michigan and took Ohio State into overtime. They perhaps gave Iowa too many chances to win this game and are lucky to have come away with the victory.

Alex Hornibrook, the freshman quarterback who has developed a reputation of being a “game-manager” so far this season, continued the trend. He was 11-of-19 for 197 yards and no turnovers. What he was able to do through the air gave Corey Clement the opportunity to have a great game. He ran for 135 yards on 34 attempts with a touchdown.
For Iowa, the Wisconsin defense was suffocating. Iowa struggled the same way most other offenses have struggled. They lost the time-of-possesion battle by nearly 15 minutes and only managed 236 total yards.
Wisconsin faces its last big challenge of the year next week against No. 8 Nebraska. Iowa draws Penn State at Beaver Stadium next week.
