Appalachian State star Jane Cline is being rewarded for her outstanding play over the weekend.
On Wednesday, it was announced that Cline has been named the NCAA Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. The announcement comes following a phenomenal string of games for the senior forward.
Over the weekend, Cline scored three goals.
While that is impressive in itself, two of the goals were game-winners, including one in the final 15 seconds against rival South Alabama to clinch a Sun Belt tournament berth.
“It was pretty surreal,” Cline said after her game-winning goal on senior night. “After last year this is all I wanted to beat this team after we lost to them in PK’s and it is a great feeling to beat them in overtime in the last minute.”
