Baylor senior quarterback Seth Russell was able to return from a broken neck to start for the Bears this season. Unfortunately, Russell went down with another serious injury on Saturday against the Oklahoma Sooners.
Russell was scrambling when he was dragged to the ground.
That is when Russell’s leg got caught under an Oklahoma defender as he rolled over and to the ground. Russell’s leg snapped in half right above his left ankle, leaving his foot hanging. (Video of the gruesome injury can be seen by clicking here, but it does contain disturbing and graphic content.)
Russell was immediately placed in an air cast and placed on a cart as the Sooners were all class and comforted him before being carted off the field.
You hate to see this kind of injury happen, but especially a guy like Russell who was one of the lone bright sports for the Baylor football program this year.
We wish him a full and speedy recovery.
