Ellie Ordonez overcame four ACL injuries to play for Illinois

If you don’t know the story of Ellie Ordonez, you should.

The Illinois senior battled her way back from four ACL injuries to eventually achieve her dream of suiting up and playing for the Fighting Illini this season.

On Wednesday, her story was featured by the NCAA.

Ordonez is currently studying psychology at the University of Illinois and hopes to one day graduate and become a sports psychologist. The job seems fitting, considering her mental strength to be able to overcome four serious injuries.

This season, Ordonez has appeared in seven games and played 104 minutes. The senior has recorded five shots in 2016.
