Since being fired by LSU, Les Miles has been linked to the Purdue Boilermakers head coaching job.
On Friday, a report surfaced that Miles continues to be one of Purdue’s top targets and he apparently already has tabbed some potential offensive assistants.
According to Travis Haney of 247Sports, if Miles is hired by Purdue, he plans on bringing Alabama assistant Steve Sarkisian with him as the team’s new offensive coordinator. Miles is also reportedly eyeing another Crimson Tide offensive analyst, Mike Locksley, along with him.
Locksley, who previously served as head coach at New Mexico, would serve as Miles’ run-game coordinator.
It still seems like a stretch that Miles would take the Purdue job if he receives an offer from any other top Power Five schools, but wherever he lands it is clear that he is willing to adapt his offense.
After all, his stagnant offense over the last few years was a big reason for the team moving on from him after a 2-2 start.
