Baylor to interview Western Kentucky’s Jeff Brohm

On Saturday, the Western Kentucky earned a 58-44 victory over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs to claim the Conference USA title. It was the Hilltoppers’ second consecutive conference championship.

While that is great news for Western Kentucky and its fans, it could mean that head coach Jeff Brohm is bolting for a gig in a Power 5 Conference.

Following the game, Yahoo! Sports reported the 45-year-old Brohm is set to interview for the Baylor head coaching job on Sunday. Purdue and Cincinnati could also be potential landing spots.

From the report:

Jeff Brohm is expected to meet Sunday with Baylor about its coaching vacancy, sources told Yahoo Sports, and Purdue has expressed some interest in Brohm, as well. Cincinnati could be a third option if the school parts ways with current coach, Tommy Tuberville. However, the option of staying at WKU remains viable as well, sources said.

Brohm has established Western Kentucky as one of the most dynamic offenses in the nation, while compiling a 30-10 record in three season.

While the Hilltoppers would like to keep him, a Power 5 job is very well-deserved.
