College Football Playoff rankings 2016: Final four

It’s that time of year again. The final College Football Playoff rankings of the year were released on Sunday afternoon, determining the landscape of the college football world entering the postseason.

Entering Sunday, there was little doubt that the SEC Champion Alabama Crimson Tide and ACC Champion Clemson Tigers would make the playoff field, but who would take over the final two spots? It was a toss up between Ohio State, Pac-12 champion Washington and Big Ten champion Penn State.

There were arguments to be made for all, but who would ultimately get the call when the selection committee announced their decisions.
