Report: Christian McCaffrey to declare for NFL Draft

One of the most versatile players in college football is set to go pro.

According to a report from Matt Miller of Bleacher Report, Stanford junior running back Christian McCaffrey is set to forgo his final year of eligibility and will declare for the 2017 NFL Draft.

Many believe that McCaffrey, a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2015, will likely be selected in the first round.

During his time at Stanford, the star running back showed off his versatility by totaling 3,922 rushing yards, 1,206 receiving yards, 1,859 return yards and 33 total touchdowns.

McCaffrey will certainly be missed by the Cardinal moving forward, but his next offensive coordinator will welcome him with open arms.

Stanford finishes off the season on Friday, Dec. 30 against the North Carolina Tar Heels in the Sun Bowl.

Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. ET on CBS.
