The writing was on the wall that Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin would be the next head football coach at FAU, but in the immortal words of Lee Corso, “not so fast, my friend.”
After reports surfaced on Friday that Kiffin was set to take over at FAU, ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit passed along the news that the talks have broken down.

If Kiffin ultimately doesn’t get the job at FAU, it should be music to the ears of LSU fans because it has widely been acknowledged that Kiffin will join good friend Ed Orgeron as the Tigers offensive coordinator if he doesn’t get a head coaching gig.
Then again, everyone thought Kiffin to FAU was all but official, so Lane knows how to keep us all on our toes.
