The Cleveland Browns are well on their way towards earning the No. 1 pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Sitting at 0-12, the Browns are in the driver’s seat for the top pick in next year’s draft and it appears they are already eyeing a specific player with that selection.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Browns have an “astronomical grade” on Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett and have become “enamored” with the Aggies star. The Browns have extra flexibility in the first round of this year’s draft thanks to last year’s trade with the Philadelphia Eagles.
As a result, the Browns could target the top player in the draft while adding a quarterback with the second first-rounder.
It will be interesting to see which direction the Browns ultimately go, but it is clear the team is willing to go with the best player available approach rather than reaching for a signal-caller.
