Lane Kiffin is finally a head coach again.
After rumors began to swirl over the weekend, it was confirmed by ESPN on Monday morning that the Alabama Crimson Tide offensive coordinator has accepted the FAU head coaching job.
The news comes from ESPN’s Brett McMurphy.

Over the weekend, McMurphy also reported that Kiffin had a deal in place with “an unidentified school,” but those talks reportedly broke down. It looks like they were able to get negotiations back on track.
Kiffin’s deal with the FAU football program is reportedly a five-year deal, though financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
FAU is coming off of a 3-9 season where the Owls finished seventh in the Conference USA East Division.
Kiffin has plenty of work to do and the FAU program is a far cry from a perennial powerhouse like Alabama, so it will be interesting to see how quickly Kiffin can turn things around as he looks to return to a Power Five program in the not so distant future.
