Well, this is something you don’t hear every day.
Alabama defensive end Dakota Bell did not participate in the team’s practice on Friday and he will be out for the foreseeable future. The reason? According to head coach Nick Saban, Bell shot himself in the finger during a hunting accident while the team was on break.
There’s no timetable for Bell’s return and no word on whether he will be available for the playoff.
Saban: Dakota Ball didn't practice today. Shot his finger in a hunting accident. Ouch.

Bell has 12 tackles, one tackle for loss and half of a sack this season as a backup.
