Marvin Wilson, top-rated DT in 2017 recruiting class, drops top 5

One of the nation’s top players in the Class of 2017 is getting closer to making his commitment.

On Tuesday evening, five-star recruit Marvin Wilson, the No. 1 defensive tackle prospect in the 2017 class, announced his top five schools during a Facebook Live event with ESPN RecruitingNation ahead of the 2017 Under Armour All-America Game.

The defensive standout from Episcopal High School in Texas, who will make his official commitment on National Signing Day 2017, is set to choose between (in alphabetical order) Florida State, LSU, Ohio State, Oklahoma and USF.

USF may be a bit of a surprise, but Wilson told ESPN the Bulls made the list because of his relationship with head coach Charlie Strong. Unfortunately for the Texas Longhorns, firing Strong led to Wilson dropping the program from consideration.

LSU is currently the favorite to land the five-star recruit, according to the 247 Sports Crystal Ball projection. Wilson will make his official visit to Baton Rouge on Jan. 13.
