Deshaun Watson turns down Senior Bowl invitation

|

There are conflicting views regarding Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson’s draft stock ahead of the 2017 NFL Draft.

Many believe Watson will be a top 15 pick, while others consider the Tigers signal-caller as a second-round prospect. One way Watson could have quieted any doubters would have been to participate in the 2017 Senior Bowl next week in Mobile, Alabama, where all 32 teams will be represented.

However, Senior Bowl Executive Director Phil Savage passed along the news on Wednesday that Watson has turned down his invitation for the game.

FYI, I can confirm that @DeshaunWatson4 will not be participating in the 68th Annual #REESES @seniorbowl. Players begin arriving on Sunday.

If Watson would have participated, he would have received a close look at his potential next team, the Cleveland Browns. Instead, he has decided to keep his focus on training for his upcoming Pro Day and the NFL Scouting Combine.
