Don't Worry, John Calipari Isn't Going To Coach The Pelicans

The moment DeMarcus Cousins was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans where he will team up with Anthony Davis, John Calipari to the NBA rumors once again began to heat up.
The current Kentucky basketball coach was obviously connected to the job because Cousins and Davis are former Wildcats big men, but he wasted no time shooting down any potential rumors before they began to gain traction.
Calipari made an appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show” Monday morning, when he discussed the possibility.
“Not happening,” Coach Cal said, via Jon Hale of the Courier-Journal.

You can now breathe a sigh of relief, Big Blue Nation.
But while Calipari did shoot down the rumors and despite the excitement of the two big men teaming up, Kentucky’s leading man warned fans to be patient as they work out their chemistry on the NBA court.
“Everybody’s gotta calm down because it will take them time to get to know one another and try to figure out how to play off one another and how they promote each other,” Calipari said. “That may take some time.”
It may take some time, but the basketball world is waiting to see how it all plays out.
