Earlier this week, a felony arrest warrant was issued for Creighton’s Maurice Watson Jr.
The senior guard was being investigated for first-degree sexual assault before the warrant was ultimately issued. Since then Watson has reportedly been “dodging” police and has not turned himself in.
A search to locate Watson is being conducted by the US Marshals Service and the Omaha Police Fugitive Unit.
“The US Marshals Service and the Omaha Police Fugitive Unit continue to look for Mr. Watson,” the Omaha Police said in a statement, via Jon Nyatawa of the Omaha World-Herald.
“At this point in time, Mr. Watson is dodging law enforcement efforts to arrest him. Until he is located and arrested by law enforcement, or turns himself in, the entire Douglas County Court system is operating off of Mr. Watson’s time frame.”
It certainly isn’t a good look for Watson, who has been suspended from all athletic-related activities.
Watson is being investigated for the alleged assault of a 19-year-old woman earlier this month.
The star point guard has been out of action since tearing his ACL earlier this season. At the time of his injury, Watson was leading the NCAA in assists per game.
If you have any information on where Watson may be, law enforcement officials are asking for your help.
