Nick Saban Was Contacted For Every NFL Coaching Vacancy

Nick Saban belongs in the NCAA. His brief foray into the pro game was ripe with disappointment and ended in controversy when he suddenly bolted to take the job coaching at Alabama.
Of course, it’s been nothing but fairy tale endings since then, and the Crimson Tide have been an unstoppable machine with Saban at the helm.
However, given the level of success he is responsible for in Tuscaloosa, it would be downright irresponsible for any general manager looking to find a head coach for the upcoming NFL season not to drop Saban a line.
It appears every single one of them has done that, and each was met with a polite but absolute “thanks, but no thanks” from coach Saban.
The Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, and San Francisco 49ers all made contact with Saban at some point to see if the coach was interested in retiring to the NFL. He wasn’t, and it appears he will remain in Alabama for the foreseeable future.
It’s for the best, really.
Saban’s 15-17 record in the NFL belies a coach who will likely be remember as one of the greatest that college football has ever seen.
