One of the nation’s top players has found a new home.
On Thursday, Emmanuel Akot, a five-star recruit from Canada, announced he has committed to the Arizona Wildcats. Akot announced his decision with a brief statement on social media.
“I would like to start off by thanking God, for without Him none of this would be possible. I would also like to thank my family, friends, and coaches for helping me become the person I am today,” Akot wrote. “Thank you to all the schools that recruited me and I wish you all nothing but the best. I’d also like to thank the Winipeg Wolves and Exum Elite AAU Programs for helping me develop as a basketball player and providing me with exposure to division 1 programs.
“I’m blessed to announce that I’ll be committing to the University of Arizona! Bear Down!”

Akot is currently rated as the No. 4 small forward prospect and the No. 18-ranked prospect in all of college basketball.
