Arizona basketball star Lauri Markkanen is heading to the pros.
On Thursday, the freshman power forward officially announced he will be forgoing his final years of eligibility to declare for the 2017 NBA Draft.
Markkanen announced his decision during a press conference in Tucson.

The 7-foot Finland native averaged 15.6 points, 7.2 rebounds and .9 assists per game during his lone year with the Wildcats.
Markannen is also an incredible shooter for his size, going 42.3 percent from behind the arc and hitting 83.5 percent of his free throws. Markannen was the second-leading scorer on the Arizona roster.
