The Missouri Valley Conference could be acting fast to replace the Wichita State Shockers, who have left the conference to join the AAC.
According to reports, the MVC is currently looking at Valparaiso and Murray State as potential options.
The report comes from Jon Rothstein of FanRag Sports.
While the move to the AAC was a positive move forward for the Shockers, it served as a big blow for the Missouri Valley Conference — which has been Wichita State’s home since 1945.
Wichita State has been a powerhouse in the MVC, winning five of the last six regular season championships. The Shockers have reached the NCAA Tournament for six consecutive years, with one Final Four appearance.
Murray State currently places in the Ohio Valley Conference, while Valparaiso is a member of the Horizon League.
