Before the Cleveland Cavaliers won last year’s NBA Championship, UFC heavyweight Stipe Miocic ended the city’s long-standing championship drought by claiming the heavyweight title.
On Tuesday night, Miocic, who recently defended his belt earlier this month in Dallas, got to appear in front of the Cleveland fans to show off his belts.
Miocic joined his good friend and fellow Cleveland native, rapper Machine Gun Kelly, during an on-court performance and flashed the championship gold to the crowd as MGK belted out his hit, “Till I Die” — which is also Miocic’s walkout music.
The crowd understandably went wild.
And here’s video of the performance.
It’s great to see Stipe, the baddest man in the world, enjoying this kind of welcome in the city that he calls home. It’s also great to see the Cleveland sports franchises coming together and celebrating the city’s champ from another sport.
