ESPN Bringing Back Hank Williams Jr. To Sing Monday Night Football Theme

Ready for a stroll down memory lane? ESPN is bringing back a classic Monday Night football staple ahead of the 2017-18 football season.
Hank Williams Jr. is again being tabbed to sing his iconic “Are you ready for some football?” again after a six year absence as the voice of the intro song.
Williams’ absence was the result of saying some unsavory things about then President Barack Obama.
Williams Jr. was relieved of his role after making comments that compared Obama golfing with then-House Speaker John Boehner to Adolf Hitler golfing with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

When he was asked to explain his comments further, he said that Obama and Vice-President Joe Biden were “the enemy.”
I guess we’re cool with all that now.
Regardless of whether or not you agree with Hank Williams Jr. and his political leanings, there is no denying that the MNF brand wasn’t the same without its iconic intro. If you’re looking to Hank Williams Jr. for his political savvy, you were probably setting yourself up to be upset anyway.
