Kevin Durant is finally an NBA champion.
On Monday night, Durant and the Golden State Warriors topped LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers to win the 2017 NBA Finals. It is the second time in three years that Golden State has won the NBA title, but it filled a big void on Durant’s career resume.
Durant was an eight-time All Star, NBA MVP, Rookie of the Year and a four-time scoring champion, but now he can add NBA Champion and NBA Finals MVP to his list of achievements.
In honor of the moment which solidifies Durant as one of the league’s top players, Nike released a new ad titled, “Debate This.”
The ad features past criticism that Durant has faced ever since he entered the league as a skinny 18 year old out of the University of Texas who was selected with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Seattle Supersonics.

Simply incredible.
Kevin Durant has overcome a lot of doubt and questions throughout his career, so it was great to see him finally emerge at the top of the basketball world by completely taking over. Durant averaged more than 30 points per game in the Finals en route to his NBA Finals MVP honors.
