Nobody doubted that Lonzo Ball could slam it down.
In fact, that’s the part of his game that people are most confident in.
While his pre-draft dunk show probably isn’t changing where he is getting drafted at this point, it sure was impressive. TMZ Sports posted the video of the high flying show.
What you don’t see is Lonzo taking shots with someone up in his face. He’s in love with the step-back jumper, something that NBA quality defenders will key into very quickly. He’ll have a hard time making the same kind of room for himself in the NBA with that move.
There is little doubt at this point that he will be taken with the second overall selection by the Los Angeles Lakers.
As long as they can clear the court and let him dunk his heart out, they’ve drafted an a once-in-a-lifetime player. But if they need him to play as part of a five-on-five, the learning curve will be steep.
