LSU Football Player Accused Of Raping Female LSU Student

Baton Rogue police were called to the hospital early in the morning on June 11 after a LSU student claimed she had been raped by a member of the LSU football team.
The accused player is prized LSU linebacker Jacob Phillips, who denies any wrongdoing. No arrests or formal charges have been brought against Phillips yet, but an investigation is ongoing.
The woman, who previously had a romantic relationship with Phillips, says that she rejected his advances on several occasions and made it clear that she was not interested in sex. Phillips persisted, though. The woman then went to an area hospital a few hours after the incident took place.
A rape kit was administered and photographs were taken of any other injuries she sustained during the rape.
According to a report on TMZ Sports, Phillips maintains that he absolutely did not do what he is being accused of. LSU has yet to comment on the matter publicly.
Phillips was one of the top recruits that LSU signed in January of 2017.
As of Monday, he had not been suspended from the team.
