Last Chance U, season 2 is currently available on Netflix.
On Friday, the second season of the documentary series featuring East Mississippi Community College and its star-studded lineup of former Division I players or players looking to make the jump to the next level hoping for a second chance to set themselves up for success.
This season featured some familiar faces, like Buddy Stephens and his coaching staff, academic counselor Brittany Wagner and running back Isaiah Wright, while a new cast of characters along the defensive front and a star quarterback also stuck out.
EMCC finished the season with a state championship, but a short-handed loss to open the season kept them out of the top two and cost the Lions a chance at the national title. The team was short-handed because of a number of suspensions that were handed down following last year’s season-ending brawl.
But where are the top players from EMCC set to suit up in 2017 and where are some of your favorite personalities now? Let’s take a look.

De’Andre Johnson, Quarterback

Johnson was arguably the most talented player on the Lions’ roster, but the incident that led to the quarterback finding his way at the JUCO level scared off every Power Five program. Johnson was caught on video striking a woman and eventually dismissed by Florida State. However, he will be returning to the Division I level and the state of Florida to suit up for Lane Kiffin and the FAU Owls.

Chauncey Rivers, Defensive Live

Rivers was the standout player for EMCC on the defensive side of the ball. Rivers was looking to rehab his image after three marijuana arrests in seven months led to his dismissal from the Georgia Bulldogs. Now, he’s returning to the SEC where he will suit up for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Dakota Allen, Linebacker

Allen was dismissed from Texas Tech due to a felony burglary charge during his time on practice, but he has proven on the show that he has made positive efforts to turn his life around. Allen is one of the most intriguing stories on the show as he works hard to get good grades, finds himself being baptized and ultimately returning to Texas Tech after the university offered him a chance to return.

Isaiah Wright, Running Back

Entering the season, Wright was one of the players to watch for and he held offers from a number of top programs in the nation. Unfortunately, multiple injuries and attitude problems plagued his final year at EMCC and all Division I offers were taken off the table. Instead of making the leap to DI, Wright will now be playing for Division II program West Georgia.

Brittany Wagner, Academic Counselor

Throughout the season, the writing was on the wall that Miss Wagner was set to move on from EMCC. Wagner ultimately decided to leave the school to start her own academic counseling company to help student-athletes who are struggling with their grades.

Kam Carter, Defensive Line

Carter did not have the best relationship with the coaching staff at EMCC and let it be known that he has his own personal struggles off the field. Carter started his collegiate career at Penn State because of a violation of team rules, but he was able to finish his 2016 campaign with the Lions strong and earned a Division I offer across the state of Pennsylvania where he will now attend Pitt.

Tim Bonner, Defensive Line

Bonner was a former Louisville player who had positive moments throughout the season. He is known for his upbeat personality and pass rushing ability, but he still needs to fine-tune his technique. Despite that, Bonner will be joining his EMCC teammate De’Andre Johnson at FAU.

Clint Trickett, Assistant Coach

Trickett will also be joining Johnson and Bonner at FAU, where he will coach the tight ends on Lane Kiffin’s staff. Trickett now becomes the youngest position coach at the Division I level.
