College Football Rankings: Preseason AP Poll Released

The inaugural college football rankings have been released.
On Monday morning, the preseason AP Poll was announced with the Alabama Crimson Tide earning the top spot. The defending national champion Clemson Tigers, meanwhile, check in at No. 5. Rounding out the top five is Ohio State, Florida State and USC.
Reigning Big Ten champions Penn State were left on the outside looking in, despite the return of Trace McSorley and Saquon Barkley.
