ESPN has reportedly suspended commentator Ryen Russillo until Sept. 5 as a result of his arrest.
Russillo was arrested while on vacation in Wyoming for criminal entry. Reports indicate that he was drunk and disoriented when he entered the condo of a couple in the early morning hours.
After the couple told him to leave, he refused.
It appears he believed he was staying in the condo.

There was some speculation that Russillo might lose his job over the incident. However, it appears that his punishment will be a relatively short suspension from the network.
The move is prudent on the part of ESPN. There are no accounts that suggest Russillo was at any point violent during the exchange. Some type of reprimand is necessary to admonish behavior detrimental to to the company image, which is what his suspension amounts to.
Putting a man out of work for getting too drunk and becoming disoriented while on vacation might have been viewed as overkill.
The crime carries a maximum penalty of $750, and Russillo will be back with the network in a matter of days.
