PHOTOS: UGA Football Fans Are Taking Over South Bend

|

UGA football fans are out in full force ahead of today’s game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in South Bend.

It is only the second time that the two programs have ever played each other — with the first meeting being a 17-10 win for the Bulldogs to claim the national championship in 1981.

The Bulldogs are looking to make it 2-0 against Notre Dame on Saturday night and the UGA fans wanted to witness a big win on the road.

That was as clear as ever leading up to kickoff, when the tailgating fans mocked Notre Dame’s “Play Like A Champion Today” tradition by mocking up their own sign. The UGA fans hung a “Play Like A Dawg Today,” while honoring late UGA superfan Mike “Big Dawg” Woods.

If today’s takeover wasn’t evidence of just how well the Dawgs traveled, check out the scene from Wrigley Field in Chicago last night.

It’s going to be a wild environment in Notre Dame Stadium today, so buckle up for what should be a thrilling game.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
