Alabama Football Fan Thinks Team’s Hawaiian QB Can’t Speak English

|

Alabama football fans are privileged to continuously root on one of the top national championship contenders each and every year.

But that hasn’t stopped one fan from worrying about a certain backup in case he was every called upon to lead the offense. The player in question is five-star freshman quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who comes from Hawaii.

In a message board post that is almost too absurd to be true, the fan wonders whether Tagovailoa is having a difficult time transitioning to “the states.” The fan also saw Tagovailoa pointing to a wide receiver during a pre-snap read, which caused him to panic and believe the signal-caller was dealing with a “language barrier.”

Remember, Tagovailoa is from Hawaii. He’s an American citizen so he grew up in “the states,” and he certainly speaks English.

Sports Illustrated’s Ben Reiter shared the post on social media:

Simply amazing.

Something tells us that this poster is also “as confused as a yankee learning to square dance” when he attempts simple geography.

And just in case you had any doubt that Tagovailoa can speak perfect English, here you go:

Roll Tide.
