Alabama football coach Nick Saban never really shows off his personality.
Saban is a straight-shooter and all about business. But that changed this week ahead of his team’s trip to College Station for a meeting with the Texas A&M Aggies.
During his press conference, Saban was asked whether his program would be doing anything to assist any players who were impacted by Hurricane Harvey — which struck Texas and led to catastrophic flooding in the Houston area — and his response was gold.
Saban didn’t really acknowledge whether Alabama would be doing anything to help, but he did share a personal story and lessons learned from it.
Specifically, Saban recalled a time his girlfriend broke up with him and his father’s lesson that “you can’t let personal life interfere with your work” or else you will have even more problems.
