UFC flyweight contender Henry Cejudo is one of the more than approximately 20,000 people who have been impacted by the California wildfires over the past few days.
On Tuesday morning, there was a report from the San Francisco Chronicle which claimed Cejudo suffered a broken ankle trying to escape, but those reports proved to be inaccurate.
However, Cejudo did not escape unscathed.
While speaking to MMAFighting.com, Cejudo revealed he suffered burns on his right foot (photos here). Cejudo also lost his 2008 Olympic gold medal in the fire.
There is no word on how this will impact Cejudo’s upcoming bout.
The No. 2-ranked flyweight contender is currently scheduled to face off against No. 4-ranked Sergio Pettis on the main card of UFC 218 in Detroit on Dec. 2. We will have to see whether Cejudo remains on the card.
UFC 218 is currently headlined by a featherweight title fight between current champion Max Holloway and Frankie Edgar.
