Gordon Hayward’s debut with the Boston Celtics did not go as planned.
Early in tonight’s season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers, star free agency signee Gordon Hayward suffered one of the most gruesome leg injuries in recent NBA regular season history.
Hayward was going up for a tip-in, when he made contact in the air and fell awkwardly to the ground.
As Hayward fell to the ground, his leg literally snapped in half.
Hayward was in obvious pain and players on the court seemed to be in shock of the injury they just saw. Hayward was eventually placed into an air cast and carried off the field.

It is obvious that Hayward will be out for the foreseeable future.
