Florida's University Athletic Association Comments On Alleged Death Threats

During his weekly press conference on Monday, Florida football coach Jim McElwain opened up about his team’s struggles and alleged there have been death threats directed at him, his players and his family throughout the year as Gators fans grow increasingly frustrated.
On Tuesday, Florida’s University Athletic Association issued a statement to SEC Country regarding the allegations.
“The University Athletic Association takes the safety of our student-athletes, coaches, staff and families very seriously. Our administration met with Coach McElwain this afternoon and he offered no additional details,” the statement, attributed to Senior Associate Athletics Director Steve McClain, said.
If McElwain’s allegations are accurate, it’s obviously very troubling.
There is no reason or place for anyone to threaten the life of a coach, player or family member because of a game. Let’s do better, Gator Nation.
