UFC Sao Paulo Medical Suspensions: Lyoto Machida Out 60 Days

UFC Sao Paulo, also known as UFC Fight Night 119, took place over the weekend with Derek Brunson delivering an impressive first-round knockout of former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida to spoil the Octagon return of “The Dragon.

On Monday, the medical suspensions from the event were released, with Machida officially out until 2018 after receiving a ban of 60 days. Brunson received a 14-day suspension, with no contact for seven days.

The lengthiest ban went to Marlon Vera, who faced off against John Lineker to open the main card.

Vera received a medical suspension of 180 days pending an x-ray on his left foot. If Vera is cleared, the ban will shorten to 30 days with three weeks of no contact.
