Oklahoma football star Baker Mayfield has been electric on the gridiron the last few weeks.
Mayfield guided his Sooners to a shoutout victory over instate rival Oklahoma State, before returning the next week and scoring 38 points against the TCU Horned Frogs.
Experts and fans have vaunted him into the lead for the Heisman trophy, and Oklahoma sits comfortably with the College Football Playoff top four.
On Sunday, Mayfield took to Twitter to thank the fans for supporting the team against TCU.
The next one is in Kansas against the Jayhawks. Oklahoma should be able to dispatch their next two opponents with ease, but should be careful not to overlook them. Kansas isn’t a powerhouse, and neither is West Virginia, who they play to close out the season.
But the Mountaineers are 7-3 and have played quality teams tooth-and-nail.
Two of their losses have come by a touchdown, and their loss to Oklahoma State was by 11 points.
On to the next one, Mayfield says. And if he had the Twitter character allotment to write it, he might have added that we should “be afraid of what he’s gonna do next.”
