Who would have thought there would be fallout from Butch Jones being fired?
As Tennessee Volunteers fans lobbied vociferously to have the coach fired midseason, they got their wish this week. The Tennessee director of athletics announced that they’d split ways with the coach on Sunday.
Now, Tennessee could be seeing the beginnings of an exodus from the program.
Only hours after Jones’ ousting was announced, Dr. Phillips cornerback Tanner Ingle reopened his recruitment and is looking at other places to play his college ball. He remains committed to Tennessee for the time being, but that could change in the near future.
I’d like to announce that I’m opening my recruitment back up!

According to the Orland Sentinel, Butch Jones told Ingle personally that he’d been fired, and that if he find another job, he’ll contact him and let him know. Jones reportedly urged Ingle to look for a new school.
Ingle drew interest from a number of teams, receiving 35 scholarship offers in total, and is taking a particularly close look at Virginia Tech and NC State.
Ingle is considered a three-star prospect by 247Sports, and is the 110th ranked cornerback in the country. He stands a diminutive 5-foot-9, but runs a 4.5 40 and has an impressive 35-inch vertical leap.
It will be interesting to see where he lands next.
