Dan Mullen Address Vols Coaching Rumors

Mississippi State football coach Dan Mullen has been linked to both high-profile job openings in the SEC.
Since the firings of Jim McElwain and Butch Davis, Mullen has heard his name floated in discussions regarding the Florida Gators and Tennessee Volunteers head coaching jobs.
Mullen addressed the latest chatter when speaking to reporters this week.
“I love the one I have,” Mullen said during his Week 12 press conference, via Bulldog Sports Radio. “I think what you see is what we’ve been able to build Mississippi State into. As I keep saying, I think everybody has an opinion in the world about what I should and shouldn’t do.
“People that know me and friends that have known me for a long time know I like my own opinion. I’m not really interested in other people’s opinions all that much. I like my own opinion. And my wife, I listen to her.”
That’s a pretty standard answer from Mullen, who has remained loyal to the Bulldogs despite interest from other universities in recent years.
If he’s going to make the jump from Starkville, however, now could be the perfect time with programs like Florida and Tennessee looking for a new face to lead the way heading into the future.
