Tennessee State Football Player Expelled After Punching Coach On Sideline

A member of the Tennessee State football team has been expelled from school after punching an assistant coach on the sideline during last weekend’s game against Southeast Missouri State.
In video obtained by The Tennesseean, senior defensive end Latrelle Lee can be seen striking T.J. Greenstone, the program’s strength and conditioning coach, twice before Greenstone falls to the ground.

“We, of course, do not condone any act of violence within our department and are very disturbed by the action of one of our students,” Tennessee State athletic director Teresa Phillips said in a statement.
“We are committed to supporting the coach who was personally affected and our concern now is with him.”
The 22-year-old Lee was expelled on Monday.
Lee, who did not play in Saturday’s win, had 18 tackles including 3.5 for a loss this season.
