It has finally happened. We’ve hit peak 2017 with Donald Trump going after LaVar Ball in a tweet.
Ball downplayed any role the president had in securing the release of his middle son, LiAngelo, and two UCLA teammates who were arrested for shoplifting in China.
As you would expect, the president, who feeds off of praise, didn’t appreciate Ball’s take on the matter.
So, on Sunday morning, Trump took to Twitter to put Ball on blast.
Now that the three basketball players are out of China and saved from years in jail, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo, is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal. I should have left them in jail!

This comes after Trump’s social media director Dan Scavino also took a shot at the Big Baller Brand patriarch.
Wannabe @Lakers coach, BIG MOUTH @Lavarbigballer knows if it weren’t for President @realDonaldTrump, his son would be in China for a long, long, long time! #FACT https://t.co/j2GcY7F4f9

Buckle up, folks, because you know LaVar Ball is going to respond.
The three players arrested — LiAngelo, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill — remain suspended from the team indefinitely. The trio previously thanked Donald Trump for his involvement when they gave a press conference after returning back to the states.
