Tennessee State football player Latrelle Lee is facing felony assault charges.
The charges come as a result of Lee punching strength and conditioning coach T.J. Greenstone in the head on the sideline during a game earlier this month.
Lee was a officially charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.
Following the incident, the senior defensive end was kicked off of the team and expelled by the university.
According to The Tennessean, “The victim has subsequently been having medical difficulties as a result from the altercation.”
If convicted of felony assault, Lee would face two to 12 years in prison under Tennessee law.
