Alabama Basketball Team Plays 3-on-5 After Bench-Clearing Brawl

It’s been a crazy day in Tuscaloosa. After the Crimson Tide fell to Auburn in the Iron Bowl, the Alabama basketball team found itself finishing out a game against No. 14 Minnesota with just three players.
The Crimson Tide had an interesting day on the court thanks in part to a bench-clearing brawl.
Following the brawl, the entire Alabama bench was ejected from the game for leaving the bench area and coming onto the court.
Shortly after, another Crimson Tide player fouled out.
That left Alabama with four, before ANOTHER player rolled his ankle and was forced to leave the game due to injury. The result was the ever rare 5-on-3 advantage on the hardwood for the Golden Gophers in the final ten minutes.
Here’s how it all got started:

Despite the serious disadvantage, Alabama managed to keep the game close and only lost by five points, 89-84.
Discipline will be a major talking point for Avery Johnson’s team following the game, but they have to take some comfort in knowing they were able to hang in the game despite a serious disadvantage.
The Crimson Tide return to the court on Wednesday against Lousiana Tech in a game they hope will feature five players for its entirety.
