You Might Be Surprised By Who Is The Favorite To Get The Job Coaching At Arkansas

The Arkansas football program is on the hunt for its next head coach.
Word on the street is that they want to make a splash. BetOnline has released its odds of they think will get the job, and they’re guessing that nostalgia will play a big role in the hire.
Gus Malzahn, currently employed by the No.6 Auburn Tigers, is the favorite to be coaching at Arkansas next season. Malzahn played for the Razorbacks as a walk-on receiver in the mid-80’s before transferring elsewhere to earn his degree.
At +200 odds, he’s believed to have the inside track.

Mike Leach is expected to bolt from Washington State in favor of a more high-profile job. Arkansas might be the one, though reports suggest that Tennessee is also showing interest.
FAU fans will balk at Lane Kiffin’s appearance on this list, but deep down, they know it’s entirely possible. And for whatever reason, Les Miles continues to show up near the bottom of these lists.
With all of the coaching vacancies this season, he’s sure to land somewhere. If he doesn’t, it means he doesn’t want to.
And just to show us how funny they are, the oddsmaker included Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on the list, coming in at +10000 odds. Jones is an Arkansas alumnus, and the resident cooky old man of the football world, so maybe his inclusion isn’t so crazy.
